Handmade wheel thrown wood fired pottery.
I'm requesting funds to support my loss of income from canceled events and sales, as well as upcoming sales opportunities that will be decreased due to WNC tourism for the arts being severely impacted. Funding will also repair loss from damaged materials, and damage to our creek culvert that is a driveway that leads to our studio.
My partner is also a potter, and we are both self-employed with our small business, Wood Song Pottery for the past 17 years. The affects from Hurricane Helene will greatly impact our business and income for our family. We have a GoFundMe site which is to support myself and my wife, Joy Tanner, who is also a potter impacted by the storm. We will donate 30% of our GoFundMe proceeds to another ceramic artist impacted by the hurricane who lost their studio and kiln access. We hope to also share our resources by allowing them to work in our studio space and fire in our kilns for a few months if they have lost access to their own in the storm. Other option is our Venmo business account.
