I’m a teaching artist in textiles and fibers, in the early phases of moving my studio from Asheville to Penland.

I had just started to renovate my uncle’s old ceramic studio in Penland that he built 45 years ago, when Helene hit. The property suffered two major landslides, one of which took out the only road leading to the driveway. The road is private so there’s no state help for repairs. The spring also broke out of its containment box and is continuously flooding the basement. I am raising funds primarily for road repair and secondarily for an emergency water system overhaul.
