My ceramics studio was part of Second Story Potters, located inside Riverview Station in Asheville’s River Arts District. During Hurricane Helene, it flooded waist-high. My potters wheel, many tools, some finished work and works in process were lost or damaged. I will need to replace these items in addition to find a new studio and gallery space in order to produce and sell pottery again.
In addition to pottery, we make Potters’ Skin Butter lotion. This part of the business was disrupted due to power and water outages. We also had some of our shows cancelled. Although we are returning to making lotion, three of our largest wholesale dealers were flooded and had to close, reducing our sales.
