Chad Caldwell is a ceramic artist living in Asheville, NC. He uses dark clay, white slip, layering images, and the color of the natural world around him. I want my work to instill a sense of joyful warmth and coziness when in use. I hope the user feels reconnected to the earth and has their senses transported to a moment of happiness.

Support my pottery journey! I started my pottery journey taking classes at The Village Potters, Judi Harwood, and Julia Mann were my first instructors and fostered the love of the craft. This lead me to become an apprentice learning all the ins and outs of the pottery world and business, including their independent study and mentorship program. Thus Artfully Appalachian was born, through mentorship and developing my craft, learning my style along the way.

I was slated to graduate the 1-3 year program next year but Helene had other plans. My studio space flooded destroying tools, clay, and equipment.

I’m excited to share my pottery with you through my website and Instagram! Here are a few ways you can help:

  1. Shop Online: Visit my website to explore my latest pottery creations. Every purchase supports my craft and helps me continue creating.
  2. Instagram Sales: Follow me on Instagram for exclusive story sales where you can snag unique pieces before anyone else!
  3. In-Person Events: Join me at local pop-ups and shows to see my work up close and connect with fellow pottery lovers.
  4. Donations: If you’d like to support my studio rebuild, I welcome donations via Venmo and PayPal. Your contributions will help me restock supplies and enhance my creative space.
  5. Support Organizations: I’m also donating a portion of proceeds to a cause close to my heart: The Village Potters. Your support helps me give back to the community.

Thank you for being a part of my pottery journey!
