Hi, Cyndie Mayer aka The Porcelain Diva. I am a ceramic artist specializing in porcelain. I worked with all sorts of clay in college but didn’t take porcelain clay seriously until I retired and moved to Asheville where I could create and interact with other potters. My love of porcelain clay and all its intricacies and idiosyncrasies helped me name my home studio The Porcelain Diva! The Diva part will give you a hint of what it’s like to work with porcelain clay. Plus, the horsehair/bird feather firing process just adds to the uniqueness of the final piece. I can get lost in creative time when working with the clay and firing process and love to see the final product. I hope you have the same feeling after you view my work.
