Robin started RGH Creative in Boulder, Colorado in 2018. She initially sparked her passion and learned the basics of ceramics by attending a beginner class at a local pottery studio. Robin quickly found a calling for ceramics. Since having moved to Asheville she was accepted into the The Village Potters independent study and mentoring program where she gained an expert education. and was able to hone her talent and specific style as an artist. Robin’s unique style reflects how she uses pottery in her own life. She utilizes pottery as a form of solace, finding peace in throwing on the wheel, and the serenity that can come from finding and holding center. Robin draws inspiration from the Japanese practice of Wabi Sabi, the view that there is beauty in flaws, beauty of the imperfect and its uniqueness.Robin’s work plays with the balance of finding the aesthetic form of traditional structures and stepping outside of those boundaries by adding her own peculiar flare and colorful glaze designs. “I love being spontaneous and unintentional and imperfect. I want my work to be different. I love how nothing is perfect and I put that into my work. I love that everything in the world is different but the same, I’m inspired by that.”
