I have always had a drive to create. Some of my first memories are of throwing paint all over a toy easel while my mom tried desperately to keep the mess contained sheets of newspaper splayed out on the floor. When I was introduced to working in ceramic as a sophomore in college, clay quickly became a soothing outlet for me while dealing with the stress of constant all nighters and neverending due dates. I found clay to be meditative yet challenging, a process I could get lost in for hours. I like to spend time constructing a flow with every piece. Whether it’s the soft curves of clay slip or carving out the rolling hills of mountains and textures of underwater terrain the flow of every element of a piece is staple in my work.
