Katie Knorovsky is a fiber artist in West Asheville. Her round weavings are inspired by the natural world — flowers that catch her eye, the feeling of being immersed in the forest, the ephemeral beauty of the morning sky. The openings in the center of her works are meant to serve as windows into these woven worlds. Fascination with place runs as a common thread through her life and builds on two decades as an editor for magazines including National Geographic Traveler and Hidden Compass. Prior to Hurricane Helene, her work could be found at ArtPlay Gallery in the River Arts District, where she also gave occasional weaving workshops (her next workshop will be offered in January 2025, at ArtPlay's new location). Her work has also appeared at Marquee and at the Big Crafty.
