Ceramic artist Camille Morin has worked in clay since 1990 and has her BFA in Ceramics from the University of Tennessee. Camille launched Belle Epoque Studio online in 2013 to highlight her love of all things nostalgic and her French roots. Images are collected and sourced mostly from old books and the era prior to photography. Many are designed by the artist, such as her Musician series. In this way Camille is creating memorials and legacy work. Photographs may soon fade & deteriorate but ceramics can last millennia. Her small batch creations are all wheel thrown, hand-built, or slip-cast. Hand-inked lithographic print transfers are burnished into the clay before any firings, then the work is finished with a curated palette of homemade glazes and accented often with vintage and contemporary decals and metallic lusters.
